The fleet will include 200 bikes with electric pedal assistance, which will be the largest share in North and South America, according to Bewegen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24697\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24697\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-24697 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bikocity.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baltimore-inner-harbor-1570084-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"http:\/\/www.freeimages.com\/photographer\/nitewind23-51362 Baltimore\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bikocity.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baltimore-inner-harbor-1570084-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bikocity.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baltimore-inner-harbor-1570084.jpg 586w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24697\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FreeImages.com\/<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freeimages.com\/photographer\/nitewind23-51362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nitewind23<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Funding for the bikeshare program, \u201cCharm City Bikeshare,\u201d was approved on March 16 and will be implemented in the fall of 2016, creating 50 stations around <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2015\/08\/05\/baltimore-ravens-gone-solar-touchdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baltimore<\/a>. Locations will stretch from the Inner Harbor westward to Union Square, north to Charles North, eastward to Canton, and south to Locust Point according to The Baltimore Sun. Each bike will be tracked with GPS, allowing planners to create stations as per demand.<\/p>\n<p>The program will create nearly 80 local jobs including employing veterans from the Baltimore Station, a home for those recovering from homelessness and drug addiction.<\/p>\n<p>Though it has not yet been determined how much it will cost to rent the bikes, it is speculated to be at a rate of approximately $4 an hour, with the first half hour being free, similar to other <a href=\"http:\/\/bikocity.com\/nike-sponsoring-new-bikeshare-portland\/\" target=\"_blank\">national bikesharing programs<\/a>.
