Carbon is designed to reflect the &#8220;edgiest and latest technologies.&#8221; Weighing a previously &#8220;unimaginable&#8221; amount, Carbon nearly halves the weight of its stainless steel counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>While a steel frameset weighs about 7kg, the carbon fiber design weighs about 4kg. The Carbon in its completed form &#8212; with &#8220;Gates Carbon&#8221; belt drive and &#8220;Aerospoke&#8221; wheel set &#8212; weighs in at about 10kg.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gas2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/image39.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-45755 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/gas2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/image39-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Image from Velonia Bicycles\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Viks works with Sloveian Carbon enchanter company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berk-composites.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Berk Composite<\/a>, a reputable and innovative company known for collaborating with British professional cyclers, <a href=\"http:\/\/Teamsky.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Team Sky<\/a>. While Berk produces the Carbon elements for Viks Carbon frame, the joints and other steel elements are identical to the Viks standard stainless steel bikes to ensure a lifetime of durability.<\/p>\n<p>The frame will be featured and available for a test ride <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurobike-show.com\/eb-en\/visitors\/dates-prices.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">next week at Eurobike 2015<\/a> in Friedrichdschafen, Germany &#8212; the world&#8217;s leading trade show for the bicycle industry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gas2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/image38.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-45754 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/gas2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/image38-500x182.jpg\" alt=\"image from Velonia Bicycles\" width=\"500\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Since 2009, Velonia &#8212; maker of the Viks brand &#8212; has been known for innovative frame design and Carbon wheels. In the last two years, Velonia, under the Viks brand, has released several acclaimed bicycle designs from its\u00a0Estonian workshop. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/viks.cc\/slide\/viks-anniveloversary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anniveloversary<\/a>\u00a0was featured on DesignBoom&#8217;s top 10 list of bicycle designs two years in a row (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.designboom.com\/design\/top-10-bike-designs-of-2013-12-13-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013<\/a>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.designboom.com\/design\/top-10-bike-designs-of-2014-12-16-2014\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2014<\/a>). As co-owner Kristo Riima describes Viks, &#8220;&#8230;remember, minimum is maximum. Less is more. Viks is the perfect vehicle for the conscious big city commuter.
