Following up on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2010\/10\/01\/green-business-blog-carnival-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green Business Blog Carnival post #17<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cleantechnica<\/a> (which featured a couple posts from EcoLocalizer), here\u2019s the next edition of the Carnival for your reading pleasure.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first ride.. er, <em>post<\/em> of the day comes from Jeff McIntire-Strasburg, writing over on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sundancechannel.com\/sunfiltered\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SUNflitered blog<\/a>. It was a post on a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sundancechannel.com\/sunfiltered\/2010\/10\/nuride-uva-green-transportation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new clean transportation partnership<\/a> between NuRide, a company that rewards people for making greener transportation choices, and the University of Virginia. Interesting partnership and, as a former Charlottesville resident, I&#8217;m especially curious to see how this turns out.<\/li>\n<li>Jeff also had a post over on <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sustainablog.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sustainablog<\/a> this week about an interesting and educational <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sustainablog.org\/panasonic-eco-lunch-hour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earth Lunch Hour<\/a> Day of Action hosted by Panasonic&#8230;. Yeah, Panasonic hosting a day of action around the topic of eating greener sounded strange to Jeff (and me) as well. Jeff concluded that this day of action (which was October 6) didn&#8217;t seem to be greenwashing but still asked if it was &#8220;marketing genius&#8221; or a &#8220;great big fail.&#8221; Good question. No matter what it was, I was happy to see <a href=\"http:\/\/eatdrinkbetter.com\/2010\/10\/06\/panasonic-hosting-earth-lunch-hour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Panasonic informing people<\/a> about how they can eat greener and followed Jeff in writing about this over on our sister site, <a href=\"http:\/\/eatdrinkbetter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eat.Drink&#8230;Better<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>David Wheat, writing over on <a href=\"http:\/\/docsgreen.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doc&#8217;s Green Blog<\/a>, had an interesting piece this week on &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/docsgreen.blogspot.com\/2010\/10\/is-dangerous-interference-inevitable.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dangerous interference<\/a>&#8221; and &#8220;a very different Earth.&#8221; China&#8217;s surging growth and recent research\u00a0results show that we have little, little hope of keeping global warming below 2 degrees C.\u00a0Other research shows that the 2 degree target may have been<br \/>\ndangerously high in the first place. As a result, the UK environment minister recently stated that businessesmust plan to adapt to &#8220;inevitable&#8221; change. David asks: &#8220;Is it time to throw in\u00a0the towel?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>I had a couple of green activism\/business pieces over on <a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planetsave<\/a> this week that I think are worth a share here as well&#8230;. One is on a push by world-leading activist organization Avaaz to get Swiss banking giant UBS to <a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/2010\/10\/07\/to-swiss-banking-giant-ubs-get-out-of-mountaintop-removal-coal-mining\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stop funding mountaintop removal coal mining<\/a> (short story on that + petition opportunity over there) and another is on news of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/2010\/10\/05\/monsanto-hired-blackwater-to-spy-on-animal-rights-activists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monsanto hiring spies<\/a> to infiltrate animal rights organizations (I guess that would fall under anti-green business).<\/li>\n<li>And, over on another sister site, <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cleantechnica<\/a> (yes, last week&#8217;s Green Business Blog Carnival host), I had a couple of posts on <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2010\/10\/06\/chinas-clean-energy-job-growth-nytimes-op-ed-by-thomas-friedman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China&#8217;s clean energy growth<\/a> (even <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2010\/10\/04\/chinese-wind-company-goldwind-continues-growth-in-the-americas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">into the US<\/a>) and on <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2010\/10\/07\/google-investing-in-human-powered-monorail-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google investing in human-powered monorail<\/a> systems from New Zealand. Clearly, I thought these were interesting stories worth a read.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That wraps up this week\u2019s Green Business Blog Carnival.
