We’re not even going to try to tell you what bicycle to get for the ones you love, as that’s as varied as there are people. Everyone has their own ideal bike for the riding they want to do. However, when it comes to gear, there are a lot of commonalities. In this four-part series, we cultivate the coolest things for daily riding we saw at Interbike and beyond this year.
First of all… Gifts For Everyone!
The very definition of urban cycling apparel and gear, Chrome has been keeping San Francisco (and beyond) cyclists protected and well dressed since the 90’s. They offer custom messenger bags, which make a great gift for the commuter in your life. Here their sewers are hard at work on the show floor stitching up custom bags for Interbike attendees.
Swrve stretch cordura blend jeans
Really, any Swrve product. We’re a bit biased, as they’re a short ride from home, but their clothes are super comfortable and look great all over LA. Their men’s skinny cordura jeans also fit women and with a bit of pegging are perfectly au courant. Note- the black doesn’t stretch nearly as much as the indigo.
DZR shoes
For the more urban style rider, these fit the bill. DZR has a really cool look that’s quite a refreshing change from the typical mtb/street shoe. We’re particularly fond of the Ovis, a clean, classic leather high top you can wear with SPD pedals.
Although we didn’t see them at Interbike, Betabrand has been making awesome everyday cycling clothes for years. For example, this shirt. Classic plaid by day, blazing reflective stripes by night. Their Disconium hoodie is my favorite for night riding. They’re having a Black Friday Sale all weekend, which should continue into Cyber Monday…
These cool t-shirts and hoodies have great design and best of all it’s reflective. They’re great for keeping your favorite cyclist safe at night.
Later this week, we’ll have a Men’s Edition, a Women’s Edition, and a Stocking Stuffers Edition, so stay tuned! What’s at the top of your gift wish list?
